Why did we start GGM?

It's a question we get a lot when we tell (potential) partners, friends, and family about our plans. I think the best answer that comes directly to mind is that we have seen how a group of well-motivated individuals can achieve great things when put in the right atmosphere. We both have experienced first hand how it feels to work in a highly- efficient and technically skilled team. With above all, most importantly, a lot of fun. With those magical ingredients we helped organisations in their cloud journey. It's very challenging to find these things in already existing consultancy companies. Therefore, we've made the choice to start building a company ourselves.

What is the trend in the market of Public Cloud?

In the market cloud has become the commodity of any IT organisation over the last couple of years. Many previous datacenter focussed Managed Service Providers (MSP) are now providing the same services in the public clouds. However, since public cloud knowledge is widely available via online documentation these managed service providers have encountered difficulties staying ahead of their customers. Instead of relying on a managed service provider for supporting the infrastructure, organisations are now shifting to sourcing these tasks internally again. Supported by the management capability of the cloud platforms, especially for business DevOps (BizDevOps) teams. By taking the creation- and deployment of the platform in their own hands they can deliver finally deliver the value that was requested to make their organisation successful.

Why does it make sense to start a company when organisations are aiming to take more responsibilities themselves again?

Every organisation that has the strategy to transform their IT landscape in public cloud has the same challenge. Reading the documentation or working in a sandbox is different than building and running a production workload supporting mission-critical applications. Helping partners gather this knowledge and supporting them with the implementation of the latest and greatest workloads is what we want to do with GGM. We help our partners to show how it’s done, then how to do it together, and lastly to let partners do the work themselves.
